During the month of January Fr. Tesfaye Tadesse [on the left, in the picture] visited the Delegation of Chad. It was a long and intense visit that lasted more than three weeks. On January 2-7 he took part in the Delegation’s Assembly which had as its topic the formulation of the six-year plan, in line with the directives of the last General Chapter. Personal and community discernment had already been done, so that the assembly consisted in giving concrete form to those reflections and in formulating a concrete plan of action. The Superior General helped us with his observations and good advice as the various themes were brought up.
Fr. Tesfaye Tadesse,
Superior General,
[on the center,

The last day of the assembly was given totally to a meeting with him based on the life of the Institute, its realities, difficulties, joys and challenges.
It was an enriching time for all as it helped us open our eyes to the reality of our Institute and the challenges it will face in future years, both at the level of personnel and of commitments.
Fr. Tesfaye was always willing to listen and accept comments and impressions of the members of the delegation, and this made it possible for the assembly to take place in a fraternal atmosphere.
Beginning on the 8th, Fr. Tesfaye started the visit to the communities. We must to be grateful to him for having visited all of them and for his explicit wish to meet with each individual member of the delegation, despite the distances and the various activities of the communities themselves. In between the personal interviews with each brother, Father General also held little meetings with the individual communities in order to share his impressions and encourage them to approach the new six-year plan with enthusiasm and dedication.
The fact that the Superior General wanted to come to Chad at the beginning of his mandate in order to be present to the elaboration of our six-year plan is a sign of the interest the Institute has in our delegation, a land of first evangelization with very complex and diverse realities. The visit ended with a meeting with the Delegation Council on January 20-21, after which he returned to Rome.
