“We wish you all a Holy Week full of peace and of God, and an Easter that may bring you the Life which only the Lord can offer.” (General Council)

Text of the photo: All peoples are my people.

“Simon Peter who was following now came up, went right into the tomb, saw the linen cloths on the ground, and also the cloth that had been over his head; this was not with the linen cloths, but rolled up in a place by itself. Then the other disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed. Till this moment they had failed to understand the teaching of Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.” (Jn 20:6-9)

Dear Confreres,

At the end of our Lenten journey, we have arrived at the beginning of a period that will lead us to contemplate and experience the mystery of the passion, death and resurrection of the Lord. These are days that call for silence, prayer, and to let ourselves be transformed by the love of God which is offered us freely, together with his desire to share with us his life project.

As missionaries we cannot forget the passion of Christ that continues today in time and in the flesh of many brothers and sisters who suffer from violence, indifference, rejection and who are forgotten in our world satisfied with itself. We cannot forget the death of Christ which becomes present today in the death of many innocent people victims of war, of our fears to recognize ourselves as brothers, of our selfish ambitions…

Above everything, however, we cannot forget the Risen Christ, the living Christ whom we encounter every day in many people who enrich us with their experience of faith, hope, trust and joy. It’s the living Christ whom, as missionaries, we want to bring to the heart of our humanity so that it may be fully alive.

We wish you all a Holy Week full of peace and of God, and an Easter that may bring you the Life which only the Lord can offer.

Best wishes.
