First religious profession of Benjosef Raposa

In the presence of all the Comboni Missionaries of the Delegation of Asia who had already stayed in Tagaytay for their Annual Retreat and Assembly, and in the presence of his family, some relatives and friends, the young Filipino Benjosef Raposa, embraced on 25th of May 2018 the vows of Chastity, Poverty and Obedience, thus becoming a member of the Comboni Family. Benjosef was in Quezon City (Philippines) for his Postulancy and in Mexico for his Noviciate. The atmosphere of the celebration was of gratitude and joy.
The Presider for the Eucharistic Celebration was Fr. David da Costa Domingues, Delegate Superior. In his homily he thanked Benjosef for having accepted God’s call becoming a gift for the Delegation and the Institute through the intercession of Saint Daniel Comboni.
Fr. Dave presented also the following points: The fact that at the origin of every missionary vocation there is God who calls and sends, showering upon the person he calls all the gifts needed to accomplish His mission. He stressed also the need for Benjosef to always remember the two essential dimensions of his life: the vertical dimension reminding him of his relationship with God and the horizontal dimension reminding him that ‘passion for Christ and his Word becomes always passion for humanity’.
