The Justice and Peace Office of the Comboni Missionaries in South Sudan has produced and published a Justice and Peace Manual – a Tool for Parish Justice and Peace Committees. It is a comprehensive Justice and Peace handbook that has been produced in English and translated into Bari, Nuer, Dinka and Arabic. This Justice and Peace Manual is a tool for formation, reflection and action, an attempt to provide some guidelines and training for individuals, Justice and Peace Committees and communities that have been engaged or wanting to get involved in Justice and Peace ministry and related activities.

The Justice and Peace Ministry in the Church is the conscious prayer and action to transform the world in the spirit of the Gospel, in the light of the biblical values of justice, peace and care for the integrity of creation. It is a ministry that promotes justice, peace and reconciliation, without neglecting the care of creation.

In Africa today, and particularly in South Sudan, “evangelisation takes the name of reconciliation, an indispensable condition for instilling justice among people, and building a fair and lasting peace” (Africae Munus, 174).

According to the Justice and Peace Office of the Comboni Missionaries in South Sudan, this “Justice and Peace Manual is timely and well grounded on Scripture, the Tradition of the Church and the reality of South Sudan”.

It is a very good resource for grassroots and other groups engaged in Justice and Peace issues, a tool meant to be primarily an instrument to improve the ministry of Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) in the parishes, but also a guide for all people who feel called to action on behalf of Justice and Peace.

The Justice and Peace Manual – a Tool for Parish Justice and Peace Committees is also suitable for seminarians, people in formation houses and in other teaching institutions.

The Justice and Peace Office of the Comboni Missionaries in South Sudan further said that “copies of this Justice and Peace handbook are available in English, Bari, Nuer, Dinka and Arabic. They are free of charge, provided these copies are used for the purposed of creating Justice and Peace groups.
