The feast day of St. Daniel Comboni offered the opportunity to the two Comboni communities in Poland to get together in Warsaw to have a joyful time together. Besides the confreres working in this country, Fr. Jeremias dos Santos Martins, Vical General, also attended and so did our Polish Comboni Lay Missionaries, friends and relatives who are part of our Polish Comboni family. During his homily, the current superior of the Polish delegation, Fr. Gianni Gaiga, gave a beautiful reflection on the importance of being able to distinguish between the hobbies and the passions in our own lives. He also invited us to rediscover the most important passion in each one’s life, giving as an example Comboni’s passion for Africa. A very important part of the day was the official beginning of the postulancy of Patryk Górczynski, a yong man who is beginning his formation process in the community this year. After Mass we all gathered for a party which everyone enjoyed in a serene and family-like atmosphere.

The new coordinating team
of the Comboni Lay Missionaries in Poland
The opening session of the new formation cycle for the young people in Poland who wish to become Comboni Lay Missionaries was held from September 30 through October 2. Seventeen young people from different parts of the country gathered for a process of discernment under the leadership of the new director of the CLM in Poland, Bro. Tomek Basinski, and Fr. Maciej Miasik. On the last day of the meeting, the new coordinating team was appointed. Kinga Piwecka was picked as the new coordinator and Krysia Tarnawska was reappointed as treasurer. We wholeheartedly thank Michal Kedzior for the service he carried out with great dedication up to this moment, for his ability and good will.
