On October 14 the Comboni house of Josefstal, Germany, organized the “Feast of Solidarity” with the participation of many friends of our missionaries. The program included the Eucharist, enlivened by the choir of the Comboni acolytes (Comboni Singers) and a round table on the topic of “Germany, a mission land?” After dinner the musical group “Flair” held a concert of songs and international instrumental pieces that, inviting to make a “journey around the world”, enlightened the desires and the colors of the faith of the life of the participants. The feast closed with a moment of prayer.

The Eucharist of the Fest of Solidarity was presided over by the Ugandan Comboni Missionary, Fr. Roberto Tyryamureeba, who has been in Josefstal for the past three years. The concelebrants were Fr. Josef Altenburger and the superiors of the communities of Josefstal and Ellwangen, Frs. Gunther Hofmann and Josef Bernhard Riegel. Fr. Robert is the one in charge of the acolytes, youth pastoral and of the activities of Justice and Peace and the Integrity of Creation of the German Province (Deutschsprachige Provinz); he also cooperates in mission promotion with the lay missionaries.

To animate the celebration there were more than 20 acolytes, two of them originating from Peru. The round table in the afternoon, on the topic of “Germany A mission Land?” was moderated by Utta Hahn, responsible for pastoral work in Schonenberg. Participants in the debate were the Comboni Fr. Joseph Altenburger, Fr. Roberto Turyamureeba, Fr. Reinhold Baumann and the lay people Thomas Heim, Claudia Foltin and Cornelia Hummel.
