The elderly Comboni Missionaries of the Italian community of Castel D'Azzano, Verona, sent greetings and "some humble advice" to all their confreres participating in the XVIII General Chapter, held in Rome from September 6 to October 4. They also expressed satisfaction with the information received on the activities of the Chapter members through the "Voices of the Chapter," which appear on the Website "comboni.org". Here are their greetings.

Greetings
to all the Chapter members
Dear Chapter members,
We think of you very much during these days and are united with you in prayer.
We are waiting for your decisions and directives, in the light of the Holy Spirit, for the good of the Institute. Some humble advice:
Try to be the Church, the Church as the Lord desires in this historic moment. We expect not so much reflections on the various issues, but we would like that the Chapter crystallizes the reflections that were already made in the past into actions which may lead to real changes and clear guidelines, to help us in these times that are very different from those in which we carried out our mission.
Remember that the Institute is changing its geography, it is becoming more African (as Comboni dreamed of) and more tied up to different cultures, not so much anymore to the western one, which unfortunately we have always exported in our missionary work.
Finally, we have close to our heart a pressing issue ... that of the immigrants. We wonder what we also can do as Comboni Missionaries. We entrust you all to Mary.
Fraternal greetings
The Comboni missionaries at Castel D’Azzano.
