The XVIII General Chapter of the Comboni Missionaries on the theme “Comboni missionary disciples called to live the joy of the Gospel in today’s world” will take place from 31 August to 4 October at the General House in Rome. Participants arrived on August 29th for a week of preparation. The Chapter will open with a solemn Holy Mass at 9:00 am on Sunday, September 6, and it is expected to end with a solemn Eucharistic celebration on Sunday, October 4.

First day - Monday, August 31
Presentation and mutual knowledge – Responsible of the liturgy: French speaking Africa

Afternoon:
15h30 - Work in groups on the expectations, fears and state of the mind

"Comboni missionary disciples called to live the joy of the Gospel in today's world." Analysis of the theme of the Chapter from the thought and practice of Pope Francis, with particular reference to Evangelii Gaudium.

Objective: to offer to the Chapter a first approach to the instrument of the By-laws so that its function in the service of the chapter and the spirit in which it was adapted in this latest version are understood by all.
