The second day, 26th March, of World Social Forum – despite the withdrawal of some organizations after the terroristic attack and despite the heavy rains – the atmosphere was of a cultural feast. There were Palestinians, West Sahara representatives, handicraft exhibitions by women and youth music groups. Many people visited the stand of the «Comboni Network for justice, peace and reconciliation» and were impressed by the internationality and family atmosphere.

dos Santos,
at the stand.

A perceived setback of the World Social Forum is the fragmentation caused by the too many simultaneous workshops, where relevant experiences are shared. A positive way of overcoming this fragmentation is to meet in the evening as Comboni Family and put together what was said at the different meetings.

Fr. Rafael Perez, mccj said: «This World Social Forum is an open window into the struggles of our world and our presence here is a sign of our involvement. A great challenge for us is to know where we stand and what our contribution is».
