Last weekend we celebrated the feast of St. Daniel Comboni in the Parish of St. Daniel Comboni Doba Diocese. We celebrated 150 years since the formation of the congregation, 40 years of our presence here in Chad, and 20 years in the parish. After testimonials and presentations by some Comboni Sisters and Priests working in the diocese of Doba on October 7th,The newly consecrated Bishop of Doba, Martin Wengue BANI, celebrated the Thanksgiving Eucharist on the October 8th.
Six Comboni priests, one brother, and two Comboni Sisters working in the diocese of Doba were there. The celebration was magnificent and the homily was exceptional. The emphasis was on how Comboni was a good shepherd for the people of Africa during his time and how we too must follow his example and be Good Shepherds. After Mass, some of us visited Small Christian Communities for the second table of thanksgiving. May St. Daniel Comboni continue to inspire us in our Christian life and in our religious life. Greetings from Fr. Donald Magoma and Fr. Dave Bohnsack in Bodo, Chad.
